The Chairman of the Ondo State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Rt. Hon. Victor Olabimtan, has commended Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa for constituting the board of the Ondo State Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM) and for appointing what he described as “seasoned educationists with proven track records.”
In a statement personally signed in Akure today, Olabimtan lauded the Governor for demonstrating his passion for education through the selection of credible individuals to steer the affairs of TESCOM. He emphasized that the appointments would further strengthen the state’s education sector.
“I sincerely thank our dear leader and Governor, His Excellency, Dr. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, for this noble gesture. Posterity will remember him as a leader who places a premium on education by appointing experienced hands to oversee TESCOM,” the statement read.
Olabimtan particularly congratulated the newly appointed Chairman of the board, Dr. Mrs. Oluwadaisi Oke, alongside other members, describing them as “round pegs in round holes.” He noted that many of them had, in the past, worked with him to improve teaching standards and teachers’ welfare in Ondo State.
According to him, “this appointment is well deserved. I have confidence in your collective ability to deliver on the mandate of TESCOM and advance the Governor’s ‘our-ease’ agenda in the education sector.”
The SUBEB Chairman further enjoined the new board to bring their wealth of experience to bear on their responsibilities, urging them to justify the confidence reposed in them by both the Governor and the people of the state.
“May God grant you the strength and wisdom to excel in this new assignment,” Olabimtan concluded.
