Nigeria’s Super Eagles right-back Ola Aina won his first-ever Premier League Player of the Match (POTM) award on Sunday, following Nottingham Forest’s goalless draw against Fulham.
The match, which ended 0–0, also saw visitors Fulham field three Nigerian internationals: Alex Iwobi, Calvin Bassey, and Samuel Chukwueze.
During the fixture at the City Ground, Aina produced an impressive display, finishing the game with the most tackles (four) and the most duels won (four).
The 29-year-old defender also recorded 10 clearances, five headed clearances, three recoveries, and one interception.

The Nigeria international came close to scoring the winning goal in the second half, but his superb shot from inside the box struck the woodwork.
Aina’s compatriot, Taiwo Awoniyi, also featured as a substitute for the Tricky Trees.
Following the draw, Nottingham Forest will now focus on turning around their UEFA Europa League last-16 tie against Danish club Midtjylland on Thursday night.
The first leg of that European encounter ended 1–0 in favour of the Superliga outfit.
