Former Delta State governor and 2023 Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) vice-presidential candidate, Ifeanyi Okowa, has disclosed that he knew that he and his principal during the poll, Atiku Abubakar, would lose the election even before the winner was announced.
He made this known recently while speaking at an event held in his home state, Delta.
In 2023, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared President Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) the winner of the election.

According to the electoral umpire, the incumbent president defeated Atiku, who came second, and Labour Party (LP) candidate Peter Obi, who finished third.
Revisiting the election, Okowa said he had already told Christian leaders about the likely outcome of the poll following his assessment of the political situation.
He added that it was so glaring who Nigerians would vote for before the election was even conducted.
“I knew we would not win the election. And even when I met with the Christian leaders, I told them that APC will win, while PDP will come second and then Labour Party will come third,” Okowa said.
