Former Green Eagles winger and Nations Cup winner from 1980, Chief Segun Odegbami has lend his weight to the hiring of former Super Eagles player, Sunday Oliseh to assist Stephen Keshi in the national team.

“A person like Oliseh should be brought in as back up for Keshi due to the fact that he knows about the game in terms of talking the sport and also analyzing the game on a global media and he is well respected when it comes to his opinion about football,” said Odegbemi.
The well represented football administrator also was of the view that Keshi has done remarkable well for Nigeria and he has been the most successful indigenous coach to have handled the Super Eagles.
“We should be praising Keshi now and not condemning him because he has done so well, though we failed to improve on our records at the World Cup,” he said.
On the forthcoming elections of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), he ruled himself out of contesting in the election on the ground that he does not need to be board to contribute his quota to the development of the game in the country.
“I do not need to be the President of the N FF before I can contribute my own quota to the development of football in Nigeria.
“I have been in football in all my life and I can still do more to football in the country but not as NFF President or as NFF board member,” he said.
