Obidient Movement visits Lagos prison, meets boy who stood in front of Obi’s convoy

The Obidient Movement, on behalf of Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in the 2023 election, on Friday, visited Alabi Quadri at the Kirikiri Medium Correctional Centre in Apapa, Lagos.
Quadri got attention during the 2023 election campaign when he stood in front of Mr Obi’s convoy in Lagos State.
The interim national coordinator of the Obidient Movement Worldwide, Yunusa Tanko, said in a post on X that the team connected with Quadri’s family members.
“His Excellency, Mr Peter Obi, through the Obidient Movement, visited Qudir Yusuf Alabi at the Kirikiri Medium Correctional Centre in Apapa, Lagos During the visit, he connected with Qudir’s mother and sister, standing in solidarity with the family and expressing unwavering support during this difficult time,” he wrote.
Other top Obidient members on the team who visited Quadri include the interim director of mobilisation of the Obidient movement, Morris Monye; and social activist Moses Paul.
Earlier, human rights lawyer, Inibehe Effiong, visited the teenager at the Apapa Custodial Centre. The legal practitioner confirmed that Quadri had been in custody since January 2025.
