Obiano death rumour wicked – Soludo
By Jeffrey Agbo
Anambra State Governor Chukwuma Soludo has debunked viral claims suggesting that his predecessor, Willie Obiano, has passed away, describing the rumour as baseless and harmful.
In a statement released on Friday by his Press Secretary, Christian Aburime, Soludo said the online reports alleging that Obiano died in a London hospital were “malicious and utterly false”.
The governor noted that he had spoken directly with Obiano and could personally confirm that the former governor was alive and well.

“I view with grave concern the reckless circulation of such malicious rumours. It is both wicked and completely irresponsible.
“I strongly urge media practitioners, especially online publishers, to uphold the ethics of journalism by verifying any information through official channels before rushing to publish.
“The spread of unverified death rumours is not only wicked and irresponsible but also erodes public trust,” the governor said.
Soludo called on the public to ignore the misleading report and assured citizens that Obiano remained in good health. He also extended his best wishes to the former governor for continued strength, peace and a long life.
