Obi, while acknowledging the support of the OK Movement, Obidient, Kwankwasiyya, and other groups, insisted they must work within the dictates of the NDC.

Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has categorically stated that he is not involved in the formation of the OK Movement Presidential Campaign Council.
He disowned the council on Thursday while appearing as a guest on the Arise Television programme, Prime Time.
Earlier, the OK Movement, under the leadership of John Ughulu, had set up the campaign council ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Reacting to the decision, a visibly angry NDC National Leader, Seriake Dickson, described it as “nonsensical” and went on to advise that the movement be called to order.

Wading into the saga, Obi backed the position of the former Bayelsa State governor, clarifying that he was not part of the decision.
The former Anambra governor said: “I’m not involved. The NDC is the political party we all belong to, and I agree entirely with the position of the leader.”
While Obi noted that he appreciates all the groups backing his presidential ambition, he insisted they must work within the dictates of the NDC.
He added: “OK Movement, Obidient, Kwankwasiyya, and other groups are supporting groups. They must play their role as supporting groups supporting the party.
“They should not play the role of the party. We found a situation where one of the supporting groups is using the nomenclature and forming a presidential campaign council. It shouldn’t be. No.”
