Former Governor Peter Obi, has congratulated Nigerian Muslims for witnessing the commencement of this year’s Ramadan fasting and urged them to use the opportunity pray to Almighty Allah for a better Nigeria.
Obi, who made the remark in his goodwill to the Muslim faithful, also urged them to use the holy month to make reflections and work towards a more united and peaceful Nigeria.

Obi reminded Muslims and other Nigerians that the nation is in dire straits, occasioned by economic uncertainties, ethnic tensions, spiraling insecurity, which can only be overcome by their commitment, and sacrifice and above all fervent prayers to Almighty God.
Other prominent Nigerians have also felicitated with the Muslim faithful on the fasting period. Former senate President, Bukola Saraki, in his message, reminded Nigerians that they have many reasons to be grateful to almighty Allah, particularly for preserving them till this moment. He urged Muslims to imbibe the essence of fasting which is for the privileged ones to deny themselves so as to experience the sense of hunger and deprivation that the less privileged in our society go through regularly.
In his goodwill message, the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. (Dr) Mudashiru Obasa, urged Nigerian Muslims to rededicate their lives, increase their love for others, show stronger commitment and obedience to God’s instructions at this period of the Islamic holy month.
