The Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki, on Monday, visited a former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo.
Saraki, who was accompanied by his aides, however, kept mum on the reconvening date of the National Assembly.
The visit, which lasted about two hours behind closed doors, held at the ex-president’s residence within the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library (OOPL), Abeokuta.
Saraki’s visit came amidst uncertainty over the crisis rocking the National Assembly and the planned reconvening of lawmakers to consider the budget for 2019 general elections.
The Senate President had last week paid a similar visit to a former Military Head of State, General Ibrahim Babangida (retd), at the latter’s residence in Minna, Niger State.
The secret meeting came on the heels of the recent controversial siege on the National Assembly by operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS).

Saraki recently defected from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
New Telegraph gathered that the senate president, accompanied by his aides, arrived Obasanjo’s home about 5:30pm in a convoy of vehicles.
He left the place at exactly 7:12pm.
In a brief chat with reporters shortly before his departure, Saraki said his visit to Obasanjo was a private one.
He declined comment on the ongoing crisis rocking the National Assembly.

He, however, stated that he only came to visit the presidential library after missing its official opening held on March 4, 2017.
“You know I missed the official opening of the library and that is why I have decided to come and see the place and honestly it is beautiful; we are very proud of what he (Obasanjo) has done here,” Saraki stated.
