Former President Olusegun Obasanjo and ex-governor of Ogun State, Olusegun Osoba will on November 4, 2025, attend the public presentation of “Beyond Expectations – A Memoir” by veteran journalist Yakubu Mohammed.
Mohammed was pro-chancellor and chairman of the Governing Council at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria; and is the Vice President of League of the Nigerian Columnists (LNC).
He “brings to this memoir a rare blend of professional insight and personal reflection,” a statement released by Prof. Anthony Kila, Secretary General of LNC, said.
“Beyond Expectations chronicles a lifetime devoted to journalism, leadership, and nation-building, offering readers both a vivid historical account and a deeply human story of perseverance and purpose.

“The ceremony will be chaired by His Excellency Chief Olusegun Osoba, CON, veteran journalist and former Governor of Ogun State.
“The book will be reviewed by Dr Lasisi Olagunju, a celebrated journalist and columnist known for his thoughtful and compelling commentary.”
Obasanjo will attend the event as special guest of honour.
The book launch will begin at 11:00 a.m at the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs (NIIA), Victoria Island, Lagos.
“This event promises to be an inspiring gathering of Nigeria’s leading journalists, thinkers, and public figures — a celebration of a life and career lived beyond expectations,” Kila said.
