NSF 2025: Kano harvests more medals at National Sports festival

Kano state athletes have continue to shine in the ongoing 22nd edition of the National Sports Festival currently taking place in Abeokuta, Ogun state.

The state contingent led by the acting chairman of the state sports commission, Ibrahim Umar Fagge is working round the clock to ensure Kano state won more medals at the end of the festival.

In taekwondo, Kano’s Ibrahim Muktar won bronze in 78kg, Musa Muhammad silver in the 54kg
While Muhammad Shehu Baffa and Lawan Muhammad Sulaiman grabbed bronzes in the 63kg and 68kg categories.

In football, Kano state team were eliminated on cautious cards after three teams recorded the same win, goals in the preliminary round of the event.

Speaking with newsmen, the acting chairman of the state Sports commission, Ibrahim Umar Fagge expressed satisfaction with the performance of the state athletes so far, urging them to redouble efforts in their remaining matches.

Ibrahim Umar Fagge said that the state is expecting more medals in the other events, assuring that the commission will continue to take care of welfare aimed at motivating them to excel in the festival.

So far, the state won one gold, five silver and nine bronze in the fiesta.
