nPDP assures Nigerians of ‘positive change’

-

Acting National Chairman of the nPDP, Alhaji Kawu Baraje yesterday promised Nigerians a new positive change.

Although he did not elaborate on the promise, in a statement issued to journalists in Ilorin, Kwara state, to celebrate this year’s democracy day, he stressed the need for Nigerians to elect credible, agile, capable and trustworthy people into different political positions in the forthcoming polls.

The nPDP which represents an aggrieved bloc within the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC), has been holding series of meetings with key stakeholders in the party towards resolving its allegations of marginalisation within the party.

The statement also called on leaders to sacrifice more for the unity, progress and development of Nigeria and appealed to the citizens to be more committed to the unity of the country, by avoiding religious bigotry, ethnicity and acts that could cause divisions in the country.

Baraje, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) called on the three arms of government to work independently and follow the constitution strictly in the discharge of their duties to guarantee dividends of democracy for Nigerians.

He charged traditional and religious leaders to always play advisory roles by counselling and guiding the leaders and followers to the right direction and ensure that the leaders are committed to the development of the nation.
