Northern coalition says Anyim will make better president

A coalition of northern groups said Anyim embodies the qualities that they have been looking for in a needed for Nigeria

A coalition of Northern Supporters of Ndigbo President for 2023 has said Senator Anyim Pius Anyim stands out among the lineup for the 2023 presidential hopefuls owing to his fair-mindedness to persons of other faiths and tribes.

Anyim who is contesting for the presidency on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) was also described as honest, peace-loving and kind.

Chairman of the coalition Alhaji Usman Sulaiman Shehu, also known as SK, made the remarks when he visited Anyim and pledged to support his aspiration.

He said after analysing other presidential aspirants, he is convinced that Senator Anyim would give Nigeria the right leadership that will take the country out of her present deplorable situation.

He said after long deliberation, the Group was convinced that the only person from the South East who meets the Coalition’s criteria for the Presidency “is none other than Distinguished Senator Anyim Pius Anyim.”

He added: “During one of our Executive meetings held on the 26th December 2021 here in Abuja, it was decided that our focus must be based on a single candidate from the South East and that such a candidate must be a person with a high personality profile and a person with developmental leadership quality.”

The coalition added more criteria: “A person who cares for the less privileged and the masses, a person whose vision is for the peaceful co-existence of Nigerian citizens as a whole, a person whose ample experience would enable him to raise the level of our country by means of curtailing the continuing hike of prices of goods and services.”

Alhaji Shehu said Anyim has the capacity to revive Nigeria’s economy by means of generating employment opportunities for the teeming unemployed youths and women.

He added qualities the qualities that the Nigerian leader must have which he sees in Anyim: “A person who dedicated his life for service to humanity, a person who will stabilize the fuel and power sector of the economy, a person who will design means for affordable or free quality education.”

He told Anyim that the coalition visited him to obtain approval for the commencement of consultations and registration of members in the north.

Pledging to continue to pray for Anyim’s success, he says the success of the former Senate President is Nigeria’s success.

Senator Anyim thanked the coalition for their support and commitment to work for his victory. He assured them that he would work with them once the campaign begins and urged them to feel free to join other campaign groups that are already supporting his aspiration in registering with the Anyim Campaign Organisation.
