Nollywood actor, Kayode Peters dies at 49

Kayode Peters will be remembered for his role as Koko in the comedy series,   Flatmates and his appearance in the sitcom, Twilight Zone.

Nollywood actor and movie producer, Kayode Peters, has passed away.

The 49-year-old reportedly died in Canada on Saturday, June 28, 2025.

His demise was confirmed by popular Nigerian filmmaker and the founder of Best Of Nollywood (BON) Awards, Seun Oloketuyi, via a Facebook post.

He wrote; “Bad News emerging from Canada indicates Filmmaker Kayode Peters is dead.”

Also confirming his death to Peoples Gazette, his colleague, Steve Onu, popularly known as Yaw, said he was still trying to reach Mr Peters’ brother for further details.

However, the circumstances surrounding the actor’s death remain undisclosed.

Peters will be remembered for his role as Koko in the comedy series, Flatmates and his appearance in the sitcom, Twilight Zone.

The thespian, who is also known for his work on several stage plays and sitcoms, including Extended Family,   significantly contributing to Nigeria’s contemporary theatre and television space.

Born in Nigeria, Peters graduated with a BA in English from the University of Lagos. He later earned a master’s degree in film and television production from the University of Greenwich in the UK.
