Nollywood actor, Emma Buchi, tragically murdered in Asaba

Emma Buchi was allegedly murdered in his home by his PA according to IMPAN, but Police after confirming his death said they are yet to identify his killers

The sad death of Nollywood actor, Emma Buchi was announced by the Igbo Movie Producers Association of Nigeria (IMPAN), who alleged the thespian was murdered by his personal assistant (PA).

Speaking with journalists on Wednesday, July 13, in Enugu, the president of IMPAN, Johnpaul Nwanganga, said a member of the deceased’s family confirmed the murder.

Nwanganga went on to say the PA, whose name and details were not shared, allegedly killed him in his apartment in Asaba, where they both lived.

He also said the decomposing body of the actor was found in his room on Tuesday, July 12, but he had been killed on July 7. 

“Information from the deceased family member said the PA’s house in Umuahia has been razed by protesting youths since he escaped,’’ Nwanganga said.

However, the Delta State Police Command, on Tuesday, July 12, while confirming the death of the actor in Asaba, the capital of the state, said the assailant who killed him is yet to be identified. 

The spokesperson of Delta State Police Command, DSP Bright Edafe, who confirmed the incident also stated it was a murder case.

Edafe said, “The incident has been confirmed to be a murder case, but we cannot tell who was behind it for now. We are still investigating the case,”

Emma Buchi last posted on the microblogging platform, Facebook on July 6, a day before he was allegedly murdered.  

About two weeks earlier, he shared photos of himself at a movie location with ace actor, Yul Edochie and other prominent movie stars.
