Two of Nigeria’s top music acts are billed to perform at this year’s Coachella.
The Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival is an annual music and arts festival held at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California, located in the Inland Empire’s Coachella Valley in the Colorado Desert.
Oluwatosin Oluwole Ajibae, known by his stage name as Mr. Eazi, has been a great force in the Nigerian music scene with hit songs as Leg Over, Akwaaba, Skin Tight, and Pour Me Water among others.
Mr. Eazi was born in Port Harcourt, the capital and largest city in Rivers State, Nigeria. He grew up in an entrepreneurial home. His mother owned a small business and his father is a pilot who runs a private aviation consulting practice.
Damini Ogulu, known as Burna Boy burst into the music scene in Nigeria with a bang and gripped fans with great songs.
In 2017, the police declared Burna over an attack on a fellow musician, 2Kay. The spat was charged as armed robbery by 2Kay but was later resolved.
As usual, Coachella will be staged on consecutive three-day weekends in April, with identical lineups each weekend, from the weekend of Friday, April 12 & 19, 13 & 20, 14 & 21.
Mr. Eazi will perform on the second week while Burna Boy is listed to perform the following weekend.
This comes after last year’s edition where Wizkid became the first Nigerian artist listed to perform at the glamorous festival but he was however unable to make it.
