The doctors said the strike which is to press home their demands, will commence on Friday, September 12.

The National Association of Resident Doctors (NARD) has announced its decision to commence a five-day warning strike.
NARD made this known on Thursday in a statement issued and released by the General Secretary, Association of Resident Doctors, Federal Capital Territory Administration, Agbor Affiong.
According to him, the industrial action which is to press home the associations’ demands, will commence on Friday, September 12.
He added that the decision was reached after the NARD online National Executive Council meeting on Wednesday, which extended to the early hours of Thursday, September 11.
Affiong said, “Arising from the NARD E-NEC meeting held on Wednesday, the 10th of September, 2025, which extended into the early hours of Thursday, the 11th of September, 2025, the NEC members unanimously resolved to embark on a five-day warning strike.
“The strike will commence at 8:00 a.m. on Friday, 12th September 2025, and will end on Tuesday, 16th September 2025.
“All centres are hereby directed to duly inform their hospital managements and continue to press home our collective demands.”
Prior to this, NARD President, Osundara Zenith, had disclosed that the association will shut down the country’s public hospitals to press home their demands.
Their grievances include poor working conditions, shortage of power, downgrading of certificates and poor remuneration.
