As Nigerians celebrate the 55th independence anniversary of the country, the Senator representing Niger South senatorial district, Senator Mustapha Sani Mohammed, has called on Nigerians to support President Muhammadu Buhari, saying the President was working towards getting Nigeria back on track.

The lawmaker told journalists in Abuja on Thursday on the occasion of the Independence celebrations that even though Nigeria has made some progress in the past 55 years, there was still a lot of work to be done, adding that Buhari’s coming was timely.
In his words, “Nigeria has made some noticeable progress in the past 55 years, but there is clearly a lot of work to be done. That is why the coming of President Muhammadu Buhari was very timely and necessary for Nigeria to move forward and join its contemporaries.
“At 55, we have witnessed and surmounted many challenges which have made us a strong and united country; and as we continue on our journey to building a country of our dream, I urge all Nigerians to continue to live peacefully and tolerant of one another; and support Mr. President in its fight against corruption, terrorism and efforts to reposition our nation’s economy.”
Mohammed, who said that Buhari was on a mission to rescue Nigeria, however called on Nigerians to put aside primordial sentiments, noting that poverty, under-development and insecurity was no respecter of any creed.
