Nicki Minaj to address UN on alleged Christian genocide in Nigeria

Nicki Minaj, while speaking on the upcoming event, noted she would never stand down in the face of injustice.

Trinidadian rapper, singer, and songwriter, Onika Maraj-Petty, better known as Nicki Minaj, will address the United Nations (UN) in New York on Tuesday regarding alleged jihadist violence against Christians in Nigeria.

This development was revealed on Sunday night in a post shared on X by Time senior political correspondent, Eric Cortellessa.

According to Cortellessa, the hip-hop star will be joined by US Ambassador to the United Nations, Michael Waltz, and President Donald Trump’s advisor Alex Bruesewit, who is the convener of the event.

Confirming the development, the U.S. envoy to the UN, Michael Waltz, described Nicki Minaj as “not only arguably the greatest female recording artist, but also a principled individual who refuses to remain silent in the face of injustice.”

He added, “I’m grateful she’s leveraging her massive platform to spotlight the atrocities against Christians in Nigeria.”

Reacting to the ambassador’s post, Minaj said: “I am grateful to be entrusted with an opportunity of this magnitude. I do not take it for granted. It means more than you know.”

She emphasised that she would never stand down in the face of injustice, adding that the influence God has given her has a bigger purpose.
