NFF will have a new head after the election, since Amaju Pinnick, the current president declared before the congress that he will not be seeking a 3rd term

The eagerly awaited Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) election will be held in Benin City, the Edo State capital on September 30, after the delegates at the NFF’s Annual General Assembly (AGA) sanctioned it.
According to PUNCH, the 44-man congress turned down a proposal by the NFF President to have the election postponed till October 20 against the fixed September 30.
The verdict to hold the election in Benin City in September was among other major decisions taken at the general meeting held at the Best Western Hotel in Lagos.

Apart from the decision to effect leadership change, delegates also inaugurated the Electoral and Appeal committees for the election ahead of the September 30 poll.
This means, that a new head of NFF will emerge after the election, since
Amaju Pinnick, the current president of the body has declared before the congress that he will not run for a third term.
Present at the congress in Lagos on Thursday, August 18, were the chairmen and secretaries of the NFF’s 44 members (FAs of all the 36 states and the FCT).
Representatives from the leagues, the coaches association, the referees association, the players’ union, NFF executive committee members, invited dignitaries, NFF management and staff, and several other stakeholders were also at the meeting.
