The Senator representing Anambra Central Senatorial District and chieftain of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Victor Umeh, has boasted that no politician can defeat his party’s 2027 vice-presidential candidate, Rabiu Kwankwaso, in Kano State in a free and fair election.
The federal lawmaker made this known on Friday while appearing as a guest on a Channels Television programme, ‘Politics Today’.
Umeh, while speaking on the NDC’s level of preparation for the 2027 general elections, noted that Kwankwaso remains the most popular politician in Kano and cannot lose a credible election in the state.

Speaking during the interview, he said, “No matter the noise they make in Kano, nobody can beat Kwankwaso there once the election is credible, transparent, free, and fair. I can bet on it.
“I’m working with him and other leaders of the party very closely. The party is much more prepared to be an opposition party that will contest this election with very credible candidates.”
He further noted that his party’s gubernatorial candidate in Rivers State, Dumo Lulu-Briggs, and presidential candidate, Peter Obi, shut down the state capital, Port Harcourt, during a recent outing in the oil-rich state.
Umeh added, “Look at what our Rivers State governorship candidate, Dumo Lulu-Briggs, did in Port Harcourt during his very first outing. Port Harcourt was shut down.
“Those people following them in Port Harcourt last week are Nigerians who will vote. Why were they following our presidential candidate, Peter Obi, like Jesus was crossing, with people marching around him? Something must be motivating and driving the people, the voting population.”
