Theo Abu Agada, the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) Director of New Media and Strategic Communications, has described economist, former lawmaker, and 2023 Labour Party (LP) vice-presidential candidate Datti Baba-Ahmed as a “bitter ex”.
He made the remark late on Sunday night in a now-viral post shared on his official X (formerly Twitter) page.
Agada’s comment followed Baba-Ahmed’s recent claim that the 2027 NDC presidential candidate, Peter Obi, and others vying for the presidency cannot improve Nigeria.
While urging President Bola Tinubu to step aside in 2027, Baba-Ahmed said the president should not hand over power to any candidate contesting against him because they are unfit to occupy the office.
He went on to disclose that he had warned Obi against dumping the LP for the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

Speaking over the weekend on the Mic On Podcast, Baba-Ahmed said: “I will simply advise uncle (Tinubu) to please prepare to hand over and move away, but not to the people contesting against him.
“Because none of them will improve Nigeria. All those people contesting against him were all in bed together at some point or another—including Peter Obi. At some point, he was in PDP.”
Faulting Baba-Ahmed’s latest comments, Agada asserted that the former lawmaker spoke out of bitterness because the former Anambra State governor did not pick him as his running mate when leaving LP.
Taking to his verified handle, Agada wrote: “Datti Baba-Ahmed is just a bitter ex.”
Obi defected from the LP to the ADC earlier this year, citing a leadership crisis, before later leaving the party to pursue his presidential ambition with the NDC.
He subsequently emerged as the party’s flag bearer and named former Kano State governor Rabiu Kwankwaso as his running mate.
