Natasha’s resumption imminent after Senate Sergeant At Arms officially unseals her office
Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan’s office in the Senate has been unsealed by the Sergeant at Arms of the National Assembly, along with a combined personnel of security organisations.
With her office now unsealed, it appears Akpoti-Uduaghan can now access the National Assembly premises, potentially paving the way for her to resume her legislative duties.
A video of the unsealing shows Alabi Adedeji, the deputy director, Sergeant at Arms, removing a sticker at the door of the office 205 with the inscription “SEALED.”
It was gathered that the move to open her office prior to resumption is to enable Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan to access her office and participate in plenary.
Vanguard Newspaper quoted a source who said the decision to unseal her office was arrived at during yesterday’s leadership meeting of the Senate. According to the source, a motion will be moved and barring any changes, the Minority Leader of the Senate, Senator Abba Moro, PDP, Benue South, will move the motion for her to apologise. It is unclear if Natasha will apologise. As at last night up until this morning, TheNiche was aware of Natasha’s uncompromising posture, insisting that she would resume plenary at the Senate today.
Recall that the embattled then Chairman of the Senate Committee on Diaspora and NGOs, Akpoti-Uduaghan, was in March slammed with a six-month suspension by the Senate, which also barred her from participating in all activities of the 10th Senate over her alleged misconduct when she protested against the reassignment of her seat by Akpabio on February 20, 2025.
Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan’s suspension ended in September 2025, but the Senate Clerk declined her resumption request on grounds of pending court cases. Several groups and individuals including the NBA and NLC have criticised the action of the Senate.
