NAMA inaugurates panel to improve navigational services

-

The Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA) has constituted a committee headed by Deputy General Manager (Operations Directorate), Andrew Amedu, to implement the sectorisation of the Lagos sub-Flight Information Region (FIR).

The terms of reference include restructuring the Lagos-Kano sub-FIR boundaries to alleviate the cumbersomeness experienced by pilots with radio frequency changes.

This will also help to reduce the workload of pilots and air traffic controllers (ATCs) such that Lagos Sector (East) will handle all traffic to the East and South East, and Lagos Sector (West) will handle West and South West.

In another development, a new Security Liaison Officer, Samuel Apev, has been appointed by NAMA.

He takes over from Abdul Eneche now redeployed by the Directorate of State Security Services.
