Two businessmen dealing on drugs , Emmanuel Ejidike, and Anayo Okoye, were docked by the National Agency for Food and Drugs Administration and Control (NAFDAC) before a Federal High Court sitting in Awka, Anambra State State capital over selling of unregistered drugs.

After listening to the charge preferred against them, they pleaded not guilty to the five counts.

In view of their ‘not guilty’ plea, the prosecutor Mr Jumbo Washington asked for the court to fix a trial date while urging the court to remand the defendants in the Correctional facility.

In his submission, the defence counsel, Ndubisi Okechukwu, applied for the bail of the defendants , but the prosecuting counsel, objected and demanded their remand in the correctional center.

But after listening to the counsels, the presiding judge in his bench ruling granted the defendants bail in the sum of N5million each with a surety.

He ruled that the surety must swear an affidavit of means and show evidence of three years of tax clearance.
