Popular Nollywood actor and President of the Theatre Arts and Movies Production Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN) Bolaji Amusan, better known as Mr Latin has justified why the body doesn’t give medical assistance to some ailing actors.
The thespian, who features more in Yoruba movies also revealed that the association has spent over N10 million on health issues facing many of its members.
Speaking during a recent radio interview on 32FM, Ibadan, Mr Latin said some members of TAMPAN don’t get help when they are sick because they are inactive.

He also said because these ailing actors are not active members, they go on the internet, radio and television stations to seek help knowing the group has no obligation towards them.
“We always come to the aid of all active members. Since I became the TAMPAN President, we have spent more than N10 million on the actors’ health challenges.
“The ones you see going on radio or TV to beg for money are not active members of the association,” he said.
In December 2022, the veteran actor was returned unopposed as national president of TAMPAN, while Rose Odika was elected as deputy president and Mudashir Olabiyi as secretary general.
Later in an interview after he was returned as the president of the association, he thanked members of the body and promised to improve actors’ welfare.
“This is another opportunity to serve my people. This will be done selflessly, just as before.
“TAMPAN has made great improvement over the years due to the cooperation of all members of the association. I appreciate everyone for this.” Mr Latin said.
