Mistaken identity: Police arrest 5 APC members trailing Jonathan in Bayelsa

-

The Bayelsa State Police Command Monday confirmed the arrest of five members of All Progressives Congress (APC) for trailing the convoy of former president Goodluck Jonathan in the state.

Jonathan was alleged to have been trailed by some suspected militants working for APC in Bayelsa State who drove into his convoy.

The men, who were alleged to have intercepted and drove into a short motorcade conveying the former president from the Julius Berger bridge area of the state capital in Yenagoa, trailed and chased the motorcade to the entrance of the Yenagoa private residence of the former president at Kpansia, before they were overpowered and arrested by a combined team of security operatives attached to the former president.

The Bayelsa State Police Command in a statement later in the day by its spokesman Asimin Butswat, confirmed the arrest.
