Former Super Eagles and Chelsea midfielder, Mikel Obi, has said Sporting CP striker, Viktor Gyokeres, is a goal machine and will excel in the Premier League.
He made this known while praising the Swedish striker on the latest episode of his podcast.
Gyokeres has been outstanding for Portuguese side, Sporting CP, since joining them from Coventry City in 2023.
His 66 goals and 19 assists from 67 games for the club, has put him on the radial of Manchester United and Arsenal.
Red Devils fans are hoping that former Sporting coach, Ruben Amorim, who is taking over at Old Trafford next week, will leverage on his relationship with Gyokeres and help bring the Swede to the club.
Manchester United have struggled to score goals this season, with just nine in 10 Premier League games.

However, Manchester United are likely to face competition from Arsenal, who are equally struggling for goals for Gyokeres’ services.
Speaking on how Gyokeres will fit into the Premier League during his podcast, Mikel Obi, compared him to Man City’s Erling Haaland.
He said, “Definitely. For me, he is a Premier League player, he’s a player that suits the Premier League. He has every attribute to be a Premier League player, strong, big, quick, and most importantly goalscoring.
“He can score goals and when you look at it, his goal-scoring ratio is better than any striker right now in Europe, the stats are there to back it up.
“He has been absolutely fantastic. Scoring three goals against Man City, you don’t hear that often. He has been fantastic and looks a little bit like [Erling] Haaland.”
