Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) Season 4 winner and Nollywood actress, Mercy Eke, has stated she has nothing against having children out of wedlock, adding that she could adopt such a lifestyle.

The Nigerian reality TV star made this known while appearing as a guest on a recent podcast.

According to Eke, if she were to become pregnant before walking down the aisle, she would keep the baby, even though it is not a situation she is actively looking forward to.

She went on to say that pregnancy out of wedlock would not affect her in any way, suggesting that the stigma against single mothers primarily applies to women who are not financially well-off.

Speaking during the interview, Eke said, “I won’t go the extra mile to get pregnant out of wedlock. But if it just happens, I would leave it and I would have my baby. I want three kids: two girls and one boy, or three girls. I love female children.”

”Even if I don’t get married, I would still have kids. What most people don’t know is that the stigma of being a single mother only applies to women who don’t have things going well for them.”

”The women [single mothers] that are shattering glasses, men are begging them for marriage. I can get married tomorrow if I want to. But what I want in a man, I have not seen it. It’s not like there is no suitor. There are plenty… So, even if I have a baby, I would still see a man,” she concluded.
