Manchester United forward Joshua Zirkzee has turned down an opportunity to leave the Premier League club and don the jersey of Serie A side Fiorentina.

This was revealed on Sunday night by football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano in a post shared on his official X page.

Zirkzee has fallen down the pecking order at the Old Trafford and has not played for the Red Devils in the Premier League this season.

The Dutch international, who was an unused substitute during Man United’s 2-0 loss to Hull, also failed to feature in their 5-2 thumping of Ipswich Town on Sunday.

While giving an update on his situation, Romano said Zirkzee rejected a move to Fiorentina despite his limited playing time under Michael Carrick.

He, however, added that Serie A giants Juventus have joined the race to sign the 25-year-old striker in preparation for the possible exit of their attacker Jonathan David.

Taking to his verified handle, the Italian reporter wrote: “Joshua Zirkzee has turned down a move to Fiorentina after €5m loan plus €30m buy option clause proposal sent to Manchester United on Wednesday.

”Juventus have approached Man United tonight for Zirkzee as they did with Newcastle for Woltemade, in case Jonathan David leaves.”

Zirkzee joined Man Utd from Italian outfit Bologna in 2024; since then, he has played for the English club a total of 56 times, scoring on only five occasions.
