Liverpool edged past Arsenal in a tightly contested English Premier League( EPL) game played at the Anfield Stadium on Sunday evening.

The opening half-hour played out exactly as expected, with neither side showing real thrust in attack and much of the game taking place in the middle third of the pitch

However, an outrageous Dominik Szoboszlai’s free-kick eight minutes from time gave the Reds a 1-0 lead.

Eberechi Eze made his debut as a second-half sub for Arsenal, but the Gunners couldn’t find a way to get back level as their six-game unbeaten run against the Reds ended.

With the win, Liverpool now have nine points from their three games, while the Gunners are in third spot, with six points from three games.
