Legendary actor, Fabian Adibe dies at 82

Adibe led Nigeria to its first Commonwealth Art Festival in 1965.

Veteran Nollywood actor, Fabian Adibe, best known for his role in the NTA adaptation of Chinua Achebe’s classic novel, “Things Fall Apart,” has passed away.

He died peacefully in the early hours of Wednesday at the age of 82.

His death was confirmed in a social media post by Journalist and movie producer, Seun Oloketuyi.

He wrote, “Things Fall Apart actor, Fabian Adibie, is dead. Died 2:30 am this morning.”

Adibe led Nigeria to its first Commonwealth Art Festival in 1965 before launching his acting career in TV Soap, “Things Fall Apart” in 1987.

He portrayed the character Ogbuefi Uzowulu in the series, acting alongside Pete Edochie, and earned admiration for his calm demeanour and powerful performances which endeared him to generations of viewers.
