-

The newly appointed Country Manager of the biggest container terminal in Nigeria, the APM terminals, Mr Klaus Laursen, paid an official visit to the management of the Nigerian Shippers’ Council in search of cooperation from the ports’ economic regulator.

The Executive Secretary/CEO of the Council, Mr Hassan Bello, was in the office to receive the team led by Laursen.

Welcoming Laursen to Nigeria, Bello commended the management of the APMT for the acquisition of new cargo handling equipment and expressed the Council’s concern about the congestion at the terminals, which has escalated the cost of doing business in the ports.

Considering the business antics of the APM Terminals, Bello said that current economic realities dictate that exports should be given priority and must be treated as such.
