Lai Mohammed denies viral ‘Hausa insurgency’ claim

Former Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, has rejected a viral social media report alleging that he raised concerns about a so-called “Hausa insurgency” and its alleged sponsors.

In a statement issued on Saturday, the former minister described the report as completely false and a deliberate attempt to mislead the public.

The story, which has circulated widely online, claimed that Mohammed made the remarks during an interview with Splash FM 105.5 in Ibadan. He, however, denied ever making such statements.

Mohammed urged Nigerians to disregard the purported interview in its entirety, warning that the spread of such misinformation could cause confusion and heighten tensions.
