By Onyewuchi Ojinnaka
An aspirant to the Federal House of Representatives, Ojo Lagos Federal Constituency for the forthcoming general elections, Honourable Felix Nduka Onwurah on Thursday while presenting his manifesto to the public, appealed to the authorities and the stakeholders in the electoral system to ensure a free and fair election.
Onwurah, who is aspiring to contest for legislative seat in the green chamber under the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) expressed that a free and fair electoral process guarantees enthronement of credible leadership to the polity.
He made the declaration at an event held at the APGA Secretariat Ojo, Lagos to inform the public of his intention and programme.
The event, attended by party leaders and members, attracted supporters of the aspirant from across party lines who pledged to work hard to ensure victory for Onwurah at the polls.
The Ojo Federal Constituency hopeful and a frontline contender, described his ambition as a call to serve, adding that, his aspiration was driven by a clear vision — to give Ojo Federal Constituency strong, visible, and people-centered representation at the Federal House of Representatives.
According to him youths empowerment,
traders support and small businesses would be prioritised to enable self reliant.
“Attraction of federal projects,
improved educational structures and healthcare, rehabilitation of existing facilities and the establishment of new ones to advance people’s well-being.
“Above all, I promise to be accessible and accountable to the people, Onwurah assured.
According to Onwurah, a grassroot mobiliser, he banked his victory on the poor representation of the people by the incumbent. He said “Ojo Federal Constituency deserves a voice that would speak boldly and work tirelessly for its progress.
He appealed to the electorate to rally support for his ambition, saying “together, let’s move Ojo Federal Constituency forward through a credible representation”.
Meanwhile, a chieftain of APGA and the Deputy State Chairman, Lagos State, Chief Cyril Azuka Ukwu (Ebubedike) has expressed disatisfaction over the recent attack on some members of the party in Ojo LGA by the opposition party.
He said that on December.13, 2025 APGA held its End of the Year Dinner at the Flex Hotel at Isashi, Ojo and the event
was disrupted by the hoodlums and tugs who disguised as security agents in uniforms, with heavy trucks and firearms.
“Members who where in APGA’S uniform were asked to pull off and beaten up. On arrival of some party leaders the hoodlums fled.
“The hoodlums claimed they were acting on the instruction and orders of one of the Honourable members from Abuja.
“After the event, the venue was sealed and the CEO of the Flex Hotel, who is a member, and a frontline aspirant in the forthcoming general elections was invited by the security agent and interogated in the presence of some top opposition leaders.
“This illicit act can never be tolerated by APGA, and need to be stopped.
APGA is a registered National Party and has every democratic right to field in candidates, campaign and participate fully in political activities in any part of the country particularly in Lagos.
“We are ready to bring back the power that belong to the people and give them the expected dividend of democracy they have been yearning for.
And nothing will stop us,” he said.
