Nollywood actor and film producer Kunle Afolayan has lamented the skyrocketing price of  Automotive Gas Oil (AGO) otherwise known as diesel, stating that the costs are becoming unbearable and unsustainable.

The businessman made this known in a now-trending video on social media while soliciting help from the public.

Speaking on the price hike, Afolayan revealed that he spends N11 million on diesel at his KAP Film Village monthly, despite already having solar power installed.

He noted that prior to the increment, he used to purchase AGO on credit and pay it off over time to secure his next supply.

Lamenting his financial struggles, Afolayan said: “It’s not sustainable because even the diesel we have been buying was on credit. When we make a little money, we find a way to pay; sometimes it takes two months to clear the debt before we can get another supply on credit.”

While appealing to the public for assistance, the actor stated that he requires a loan to upgrade his solar power system to cut the costs stemming from diesel usage.

”We need a loan to upgrade our solar power. If anyone can come to our aid, I would really appreciate it.

“I have been unhappy because I simply cannot cope with N1,500 per litre of diesel. I can’t even comprehend it; in one of our businesses, Film Village, we spent about N11 million in just four to five weeks.

“Even though we have solar power, we still spend a vast amount on diesel.”
