Ex-president Olusegun Obasanjo’s letter to President Muhammadu Buhari is generating a lot of ripples in Nigeria.
Obasanjo had on Monday written an open letter to President Buhari on ending insecurity in Nigeria.
It is the latest of such letters as Obasanjo is noted for always writing Buhari on the ills in the society under his watch.
Nigerians on their social media have spoken against the ex-President and at the same time demand that President Buhari takes appropriate action on the economic challenges facing the country.
The Presidential candidate of PDP in 2019, Atiku Abubakar in a tweet said that security under his former boss, Obasanjo was better because they embarked on community policing.
He also said Nigeria was better off economically under Obasanjo.
“Our response to the killings of our citizens cannot just talk, talk, and talk. We must take decisive action to protect the lives of all citizens, not just prominent ones. Nigerian citizen Jubrial .A. Gawat says that one of the main issues Nigerians are facing is the ex-President.
“The problem we are having in this country is this and I will continue to say it that the number one problem of Nigeria is Obasanjo.”

Some Nigerians are also comparing Obasanjo’s tenure to President Buhari’s current administration.
According to them, things were a lot cheaper under Obasanjo.

Abubakar Sadiq Usman, says “17 yrs ago, Ex-President Obasanjo promised to construct blocks of flats for families of the victims of Ikeja bomb blast where over 1000 died. It never happened. In 2016, President Buhari started and has today finished 288 blocks of the flats despite initial budget delays by the senate,” he said this on his twitter handle.
