Kompany joins the heated Messi, Ronaldo debate

Kompany while speaking on Sky Sports recently claimed while it’s more difficult to play against Messi, he would have loved to play with Ronaldo

Manchester City legend and current manager of Burnley, Vincent Kompany, has named the player he would prefer to play with between Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.

TheNiche earlier reported that former Spanish coach, Vicente del Bosque and Ivorian legend, Yaya Toure picked Argentina captain, Lionel Messi as the greatest player of all time (GOAT) ahead of Portuguese star, Cristiano Ronaldo.

Despite Messi’s triumph with Argentina at the recently concluded 2022 FIFA World Cup, the debate as to who is the best player between him and Ronaldo has not slowed down a bit.

Fans of the two highly gifted football stars, who have shared 12 Ballon d’Or between them, are still battling to prove why their favourite player is better than the other.

However, Kompany, who was the captain of Belgium in his playing days, has now joined the debate, sharing his take on the debate as to who he thinks is better between Messi and Ronaldo.

The Burnley boss while speaking on Sky Sports claimed that while it is more difficult to play against Messi than Ronaldo, he would have loved to play alongside the Portuguese.

He said, “The hardest one to play against would be Messi, but I would have preferred to play with Ronaldo.”
