Kogi state governorship primaries: APC clears nine aspirants, drops seven

-

The All Progressives Congress (APC) National Working Committee (NWC) has cleared nine aspirants for the Kogi state Governorship primaries.

The NWC did after it deliberated on the reports of the screening and appeal committees for the Party’s Kogi Governorship aspirants led by Senator Hope Uzodinma, the APC governorship candidate in Imo state in the March, 2019 election.

The APC also declined to approve of the run of seven other aspirants.

Lanren Issa-Onilu, the APC national publicity secretary said in a statement on Wednesday: “After a comprehensive review of the submissions by the two committees, relying on the party’s guidelines and the provisions of the Electoral Act, nine aspirants were finally cleared to contest the August 29, 2019 Indirect Governorship primary. Seven other aspirants did not meet the requirements for participation in the exercise.”
