The kidnappers, according to a farmer who escaped the ordeal, have contacted the wife of one of the abducted, farmers.

Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have abducted two farmers while they were working on a farm in the Parubber community of the Ile-Oluji/Okeigbo Local Government Area of Ondo State.
The incident was made known by one of the farmers, Pastor Yemi Omowale, who reportedly escaped during the unexpected attack.
According to him, the assailants invaded the piggery farm located along the Ondo-Ife Road between noon and 1:00 p.m. and forcefully took the two men, who were tending to animals, into the bush.
Omowale went on to disclose that the attackers invaded the farm settlement wielding AK-47 rifles and cutlasses.

He, however, added that the kidnappers have established contact with the wife of one of the victims, demanding a ₦100 million ransom for their release.
He said, “We’ve reported the incident to the police and the Amotekun Corps in our area. They are still calling the wife of one of the victims, asking her how much she has raised. We’re begging the security agencies and the government to help us rescue our brother and sister unharmed.”
Reacting to the incident when contacted, the spokesperson for the Ondo State Police Command, DSP Jimoh Abayomi, said a report was received at the Oke-Igbo Divisional Police Headquarters shortly after the abduction.
He added that a joint security team comprising the Anti-Kidnapping Squad, local hunters, and vigilante groups has been mobilised to the scene for a coordinated search-and-rescue operation.
DSP Abayomi assured residents that security personnel were using intelligence and other operational resources to rescue the victims unharmed and arrest the suspects, while urging members of the public to remain vigilant and provide credible information to assist the operation.
