Veteran actress and fitness enthusiast, Kate Henshaw has slammed the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio and his colleagues for sharing money while other citizens suffer.

Akpabio said: “In order to enable all of us to enjoy our holidays, a token has been sent to our various accounts by the Clerk of the National Assembly,”

But shortly after the statement, the head of the nation’s upper chamber was alerted by some of his colleagues that the plenary session was live on television.

This made him withdraw the earlier statement and rephrased the supposed disbursement as “prayers” sent to the senators’ “mailboxes”.

However, while responding to the statement, Kate Henshaw mocked and reprimanded the senators, saying the only “prayers” going into the “mailboxes” of poor Nigerians are more taxes and burdens.

The 52-year-old actress went on to accuse the red lawmakers of lacking empathy for poor Nigerians.

Taking to her social media page, she wrote, “The only “prayers” going into the “mail” of Nigerians is more taxes, more burdens, more “grin & bear it”, more “we don’t give a f@#k”.

“Happy holidays to the ones meant to serve & bring succour to their constituents. Nothing do una jare.

“What’s the worst that can happen? Morning”

Prior to this, many Nigerians have expressed displeasure over the remark by the senate president on social media, saying the senators were insensitive to the plight of the poor.
