Jesus scores brace in Arsenal’s 4-2 win over Leicester

Jesus scored in the 23rd minute after an assist from Granit Xhaka before getting another goal in the 35th minute to make it 2-0 to the home side

Arsenal’s impressive start to the season continued under Mikel Arteta after Gabriel Jesus scored his first Premier League goal for the Gunners as they beat Leicester City 4-2  at Emirates Stadium.

The home side opened the scoring in the 23rd minute when Gabriel Jesus lobbed the ball over the keeper after a short pass from Granit Xhaka.

They then doubled their advantage in the 38th minute after Leicester failed to clear a cross into their box, only for Jesus to head it into the net and make it 2-0 to Arsenal.

William Saliba’s own goal in the 53rd minute gave Leicester renewed hope, but Granit Xhaka struck just two minutes later to restore Arsenal’s two-goal lead.

James Maddison then reduced the arrears once again in the 74th minute, after he scored from a pass from Nigerian striker, Kelechi Iheanacho, to make it 2-3 to the visitors.

Arsenal responded a minute after when Gabriel Martinelli made it 4-2, after an assist from Jesus, as the Gunners maintained their 100 per cent start to the season.
