Jenas blames Arsenal after losing Mudryk to Chelsea

Jenas made the statement after Mudryk showed his brilliance after coming off the bench in the 55th minute of Chelsea’s 0-0 draw with Liverpool

Ex-Tottenham midfielder, Jermaine Jenas has argued that Arsenal should have paid the fee set for Mykhailo Mudryk by Shakhtar Donetsk after watching him against Liverpool on Saturday. 

Arsenal were on the verge of signing the highly-rated winger before Chelsea pounced and hijacked the deal, paying around £99 million for his services.

Mudryk came off the bench in the 55th minute of Chelsea’s 0-0 draw with Liverpool and showed some signs of the skills that made him special.

The 22-year-old replaced Lewis Hall shortly after half-time and showed glimpses of his potential to the amazement of the former Spurs midfielder.  

Jenas after the match said he believes the Gunners should have done more to sign the Ukraine international.

“I think Arsenal should have found a way to pay the money for Mudryk,” he said on Twitter, adding, “Jheeze he looks like a player.”

Mudryk arrived as Chelsea’s fifth January signing, with Noni Madueke being their sixth of the window.

Meanwhile, Arsenal have since then, signed Leandro Trossard from Brighton and are on the verge of adding Polish international, Jakub Kiwior.
