A non-governmental organisation, JDM Global Foundation, has kicked off its 2025 drive towards poverty alleviation by bringing food to the hungry and needy in Anambra state. The Foundation took its philanthropic gesture to a market place where it distributed cooked food to the hungry and needy. It also paid for skill- acquisition training for some who have no employable skills.

At the event held at Utuh Market in Anambra state, the Foundation said its purpose was not just to feed the hungry but to imbue them with the requisite skills to start their own businesses or be gainfully employed. Scores of people benefitted from the feeding programme.

The Foundation has also embarked on the payment of Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) registration fees for indigent but brilliant students drawn from various local governments in Anambra state where the US-based chairman of the Foundation, Lolo Jennifer Madubuko, hails from. The idea, she said, is to ensure that students who are bright but lack the financial means, are not deprived of tertiary education.

Mrs. Madubuko whose Foundation last year provided running water for communities as well as educational materials and scholarships to the less privileged, thanked God for enabling the NGO to do what she had always desired. She promised that the Foundation would do even more this year to lift up vulnerable Nigerians, through the help of God.

The beneficiaries were drawn from Nnewi South and Aguata Local Government Areas where 10 pupils were awarded full scholarships and 10 primary schools received large consignments of educational materials.

Earlier, the Foundation donated a water borehole to the people of Nkwoagu community, in Ebonyi State. The facility, sited at Christ Anglican Church, Nkwoagu, was commissioned on August 10, 2024 by the Diocesan bishop of the Anglican Diocese of Abakaliki, the Rt. Rev. Monday Nkwoagu.
