Ita-Giwa angry at daughter’s wedding planner

-

Popular Nigerian female politician and society woman, Senator Florence Ita-Giwa, brought heavyweights in the Nigerian business, political and social sectors together at the Eko Hotel & Suites on September 20. The event was the wedding reception for her daughter, Koko, who was given out in marriage to Chimaobi Shawcross Obioha Jr.

ITA-GIWA-&-DAUGHTER-KOKOAs to be expected, the woman of many colours did not spare much to plan what was touted as one of the gatherings to beat this year in terms of grandeur. Attendees were however amazed at the way guests, and even the bridegroom’s family, were treated.

According to a source, the groom’s family was treated with disdain. We gathered they had to look at faces before food and drinks were brought to them in quantities that made a mockery of their status as in-laws. That contrasted sharply to members of the bride’s family who were treated like royalty.

Having spent a fortune on both the traditional wedding which took place in Calabar and the reception in Lagos, Ita-Giwa was understandably upset that aspects of the wedding experienced avoidable hiccups. What many didn’t see coming was the altercation between her and beloved wedding planner and event specialist, Ndidi Obioha.

A sharp disagreement was said to have occurred between Ita-Giwa and Obioha in the presence of the colourful guests at the reception. The older woman lashed out at the wedding planner and stylist on account of alleged mismanagement and incapability.

A gorgeous five-step cake which was paraded to the admiration of the upwardly mobile guests mysteriously went missing thereafter. It was at that point that Ita-Giwa lost her temper, and called Obioha some colourful names in the presence of guests.
