As Nigeria marks its 55 independence anniversary, Gov. Simon Lalong of Plateau has promised a purposeful leadership that would engender good governance and peaceful coexistence in the state.
Lalong, in a statement signed by the Director of Press and Public Affairs, Mr Emmanuel Nanle, expressed the administration’s determination to give the state quality leadership.
The governor said that the low-key celebration called for deep reflection on the state of the nation, saying that Nigerians must strive toward attaining the nation’s potential.
He said that Nigeria was witnessing a rebirth of the country the forefathers envisaged, noting particularly that Nigeria is on the rise again with the APC governments, both at national and state levels, striving to promote the change mantra.
Lalong congratulated President Muhammadu Buhari, Vice President Yemi Osibanjo, Senate President Bukola Saraki as well as Speaker of House Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, on the occasion of the country’s 55th anniversary. (NAN)
