I’m not hiding, NNPCL CEO Ojulari alleges threat to life

Group Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), Bayo Ojulari, has raised alarm over threats to his life and that of some top executives of the corporation.
According to him, his major “offence” was implementing reforms in line with President Bola Tinubu’s directive to revive Nigeria’s struggling refineries, a move he claimed had unsettled some powerful interests seeking his removal.
Ojulari made the remark on Thursday while receiving a delegation of the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Festus Osifo, at the NNPCL headquarters in Abuja.

He distanced himself from politics, insisting that his focus remains on development and reforms within the oil and gas sector.
“I’m not hiding from anybody. I’m not a politician. I will have to learn a bit more about politics, but for me, it is a development plan, and I’m ready to learn,” he said.
The NNPCL chief noted that the company was intensifying efforts to restore the nation’s refineries to full operation, hinting that the management was considering adopting the Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas (NLNG) model.
Ojulari maintained that he would not be deterred, stressing his commitment to the ongoing refinery rehabilitation programme.
