I remain PDP member — Monye

Former Executive Secretary at the National Planning Commission, Prof. Sylvester Monye, has distanced himself from the recent mass defection of PDP members in Delta State to the APC.
In a brief statement, Professor Monye said he had been inundated by callers who wanted to know whether he was among those who had joined the APC.
He said that, for the purpose of clarity, he was still in the PDP. “I remain steadfast in my loyalty and commitment to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). As a party founded on the pillars of justice, unity, and progress, the PDP continues to represent the hopes of millions of Nigerians. I will continue to work tirelessly to advance its vision for a prosperous and inclusive Nigeria,” he said.
Monye was Special Adviser to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan on Policy Management, and Senior Policy Adviser to ex-governor Ifeanyi Okowa in Delta State for eight years.
