South Africa head coach, Hugo Broos has clarified that he is currently focusing his attention on the 2026 World Cup qualifier against Lesotho and not the encounter with the Super Eagles of Nigeria.
He made this known on Tuesday while addressing reporters ahead of the two crucial games.
Bafana Bafana of South Africa are currently top of Group D, six points clear of Nigeria.
The two teams will meet next Tuesday in Bloemfontein.
The reverse fixture ended in a 1-1 draw, when Finidi George was still Nigeria’s head coach.

Before the highly consequential encounter, however, South Africa will play Lesotho.
Speaking about the two qualifiers, Broos said he is focused on the game against Lesotho and not Nigeria.
He added that the match against fellow Southern African country is “the most important game for the moment.”
“The game next Friday is about a week away and I don’t want to think about Nigeria for the moment,” Broos said.
He added, “We will see after the game with Lesotho who and how we are going to play against Nigeria.
“My focus is on Lesotho because I know that is the most important game for the moment.”
