House of Reps hopeful Sadisu Buba sparks controversy over body size, age after scaling APC screening

The confident-looking All Progressives Congress (APC) House of Representatives hopeful for the Sabon Gari Federal Constituency, Sadisu Buba, has stirred major controversy on social media after a video of him at his party secretariat for screening surfaced online.

In the video, when asked why he wanted to replace the incumbent member representing the constituency, Buba responded in a child-like voice that visibly impressed the panel: “It’s not me. It’s my people.”

Standing at not more than three feet tall, the petit-looking Buba has become the centre of intense debate over his age. He presented documents during the screening showing he is 30 years old, but many social media users insist he cannot be more than 16. The young politician said the backlash over his age has distressed him, insisting he is indeed 30.

Buba will be contesting the APC ticket against the incumbent, Sadiq Ango Abdullahi, son of elder statesman Prof. Ango Abdullahi.

Popularly nicknamed “Al-ajabin Zazzau” (the miracle of Zazzau) because of his small physique, Buba has attracted widespread attention within and outside the constituency, with many political observers closely monitoring his growing influence.

He has established connections with several high-profile political figures and has been photographed alongside President Bola Tinubu, Governor Uba Sani, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, and other national leaders.

Sadisu Buba is undoubtedly a politician to watch in the days ahead.
